World dance sport championship is being held in the capital of a huge Russian region with its one part located in Europe and the other in Asia. Chelyabinsk Region is a hospitable and dynamically growing land. The residents of the region and beyond take pride in its rich history, amazing natural beauty, economic power, and large intellectual capital.

Every year, South Ural is welcoming more and more guests who come to visit wonderful cultural festivals, sports events, and scientific forums.

Despite its rather young age – Chelyabinsk is just 280 years old – it is one of the 13 Russian cities whose population exceeds one million people. The area of the metropolis is about 53 thousand hectares. Chelyabinsk today is a large transportation hub and an industrial center with metallurgical, machine-building, metalworking, instrumentation, consumer goods and food processing enterprises.


Every year, the city is becoming more convenient and comfortable, while preserving its historic identity and unique natural landscape. South Ural's capital is in Russia's top five cities by the amount of residential construction; it is one of the leaders in education and sports.

By the level of its infrastructure today, Chelyabinsk is on par with larger administrative centers and hosts events of the highest level.

In recent years, Chelyabinsk has repeatedly become Russia's sports capital hosting major national and international competitions.

Starting from 2012, Chelyabinsk Region has successfully held World Judo and Taekwondo Championships, European Speed Skating Championships, Winter Deaflympic Games, Snowboard and Freestyle World Cup events, Russian Junior and Russian National Figure Skating Championships, and International Water Polo Governor Cup.
In the nearest future, South Ural land will welcome a number of other major international tournaments including FIS Ski Cross World Cup 2018 and IIHF Ice Hockey Under-18 World Championship.

The most expected event for South Ural residents and guests will become the WDSF World Championship that will be held in Chelyabinsk Region from April 6 to April 8, 2018.
